Artist’s Statement
I am interested in spaces set aside as important or even sacred.
This has led me to a growing interest in parks and gardens.
My recent work is inspired by natural, semi-natural and artificial environments and the plants and animals that live in them.
I am particularly interested in gardens, parks, aquariums and conservatories and ways in which they can anchor us to the Earth and the other living things we share it with.
I believe that art is for everyone.
Art is a language and each work of art consists of layers of dialogue - between subject and observer, artist and medium, artifact and viewer.
